Ex Refresher training
The Ex Refresher course provides participants with training in the skills and knowledge required to manage the safe use of explosion protected Ex equipment, and an understanding of the hazards involved in using electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The Ex Refresher course is based on the international IEC 60079 series of standards.
Duration: 2.5 days
Who should attend
The Ex Refresher course is intended for mine electricians, technicians, engineers and individuals involved in the design, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of Ex equipment.
Course delivery and assessment
The course is delivered within a face-to-face classroom environment, with a 1-day hands-on practical demonstration of:
- Ex equipment failure
- coal dust explosion in 30 metre propagation tube.
Participants will be required to complete written and practical assessments. On successful completion of the course and assessments, participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion.
