Standard 11 Mine Safety Induction (Surface)
The Standard 11 Mine Safety Induction (Surface) course provides training on the skills and knowledge required for working in surface coal mine and metalliferous mine operations, under the Queensland Government Mines Inspectorate's Recognised Standard 11.
Duration: 2 days
Who should attend
The Standard 11 Mine Safety Induction (Surface) course is suitable for new and experienced mine workers; however, experienced mine workers may wish to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). See below for more information.
Note: Each mine site may have its own induction requirements. Please check with the mine operator before enrolling in this course.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
You can apply for recognition of prior learning for this unit of competency. You will need to supply information on your work history and samples of work, and may need to undertake assessments and/or an interview to determine whether you have met the competency standards. RPL is conducted on a one-on-one basis. Contact us to discuss your RPL options.
Course delivery and assessment
The STD 11 Mine Safety Induction (Surface) course is delivered face-to-face; participants will be required to complete written and practical assessments over the duration of the induction. On successful completion of the training component, participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion, along with a mine induction ID card.
