Simtars’ continued services in response to COVID-19

27 April 2020

The unprecedented situation with novel coronavirus (COVID-19) presents additional challenges for everyone in our sector. This communication is to provide you with an update on the services that Simtars continues to provide to our valued clients.

Simtars has a business continuity plan in place to manage the risk of COVID-19 and ensure critical functions continue. Our plans align with advice from Queensland Health and broader government direction given we all play an important role in preventing the spread of the disease and keeping ourselves, our families and our communities safe.

Simtars is continuing to provide essential services during this time and our priority remains the health and safety of our employees, customers and the resource sector. Our Redbank and Mackay offices remain open and deliveries to our Redbank stores continue with physical distancing and hygiene practices paramount when receiving and dispatching goods.

Simtars continues to provide our essential health and safety industry support and services:

  • emergency mine support services
  • occupational hygiene monitoring and environmental monitoring
  • laboratory and analytical services
  • certification and calibration services
  • testing and research services
  • gas monitoring and analysis services.

Our face-to-face training has been postponed until further notice as we transition to online, virtual and remote learning options.

Certification audits conducted onsite will be deferred. Simtars is undertaking and assessing further options for virtual audits of facilities under the applicable scheme rules.

We are prioritising our remote mine technical support services to minimise any client site visits. However, we are able to visit client sites for essential support and services.

We ask you that you notify your Simtars contact if any of your staff are unwell or if Simtars staff are unable to enter your workplace. Please also provide your Simtars contact with any COVID-19 specific procedures for your workplace prior to entry.

Simtars will continue to provide you with up to date information as it arrives. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions on 3810 6333 or enquiries@simtars.com.au

Simtars is committed to supporting the resource sector, providing essential health and safety services and working with you as our valued client during this challenging time.
