Simtars staff achievement
Simtars would like to congratulate Deborah van Zanten on being the latest member of Simtars staff to achieve the designation of Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH).
Deborah is coming up to her 21st year with Simtars as an Occupational Hygienist. Her transition to Occupational Hygiene came after a successful career in nursing.
Deborah was the major contributor to the development, implementation and presentation of the recognised training package for respirable (coal) dust monitoring in Queensland (BSBWHS409 Assist with workplace monitoring processes), approved by the Industry Skills Council Australia.
Deborah is a Principal Hygienist, manages the very successful Occupational Hygiene Team at Redbank and is Simtars’ Occupational Hygiene Practice Leader.
She has expanded her career to working in PNG on numerous occasions and has significant expertise in developing and conducting complex occupational hygiene monitoring programs for compliance, respirable dust and quartz, and mould just to name a few.
