Consultation on non-urban water measurement policy proposals
One of the key elements of the Rural Water Futures program is the strengthening of water measurement.
A number of policy proposals have been developed to improve the standard and coverage of water measurement across Queensland.
Consultation on these proposals closed on 13 December 2019. We have completed an overview of the feedback.

The feedback is informing the development of a future policy.
What happens next?
We received comprehensive feedback on the draft policy proposals.
Our analysis identified some complex issues that require further investigation including telemetry devices and capabilities, transitional arrangements for existing meters and meter performance requirements.
We are examining these issues further before we determine our measurement policy positions.
