QMI Updated Statement on Grosvenor Coal Mine Incident (11.00am 11 May 2020)

QMI secured the underground incident scene at Grosvenor Coal Mine on Sunday 10 May where the gas ignition event caused injuries to five workers.
The QMI investigation team remain on site and are progressing the investigation into the nature and cause of the incident.
Safety of workers is paramount and longwall operations remain suspended and will not commence until it is safe to do so.
The mine operator Anglo American submitted the risk assessment for a safe underground re-entry to QMI.
The QMI reviewed the risk assessment and underground re-entry commenced on Sunday 10 May.
