QMI Updated Statement on Grosvenor Coal Mine Incident (1.30pm 13 May 2020)

QMI’s team remains on site at Grosvenor Coal Mine progressing its investigation into the gas ignition event that caused injuries to five workers.
The incident scene remains under QMI control to enable the ongoing analysis and assessment of equipment, materials, geology, gas and ventilation, and other relevant matters.
As part of the ongoing investigation QMI has also commenced interviews with coal mine workers.
Simtars has completed a laser scan which involved surveying and mapping the underground incident scene.
The information gathered to date by the forensic investigator, 3D scan and interviews will be analysed as part of the ongoing investigation into the nature and cause of the incident.
