Land valuations rise in Scenic Rim
Increase in demand of rural residential properties has been identified as a contributor in the minor rise of Scenic Rim land values as the 2020 annual land valuations were released today.
Valuer-General Neil Bray said the valuations reflected land values on 1 October 2019 and showed Scenic Rim had increased by 6.3 per cent overall since the last valuation in 2018.
"Residential values have held steady in Beaudesert, while the region’s commercial and industrial land saw minor increases," Mr Bray said.
"The rural residential and rural markets had minor increases since the 2018 valuation.
"Some localities such as Boonah reflected minor increases in median values due to greater demand with the median value of residential land in Boonah increasing from $102,000 to $112,000."
- The attraction of lower priced rural residential and rural land in the western portion of Boonah has lifted demand and values relative to to the eastern portion of Beaudesert where values remained static to slightly increasing.
- Commercial and industrial lands in Boonah increased but generally remained static elsewhere in the area.
Landowners who believe their valuation was incorrect and can provide supporting information, can lodge their objection online or at the address shown at the top of their valuation notice by 5 May 2020.
